i am experimenting with some new shrinky dink techniques and found a great new way to make earrings!

scrapbooking hole punches are a great tool for jewelry! i tried it out with this elephant design and it worked amazingly.

i am now in a mission to acquire some more adorable punches for my new line, aptly named PUNCH!

i just placed an order to have a custom stamp made for me of my logo for Unicorn Crafts

the artist is named Tyr and she lives in Stockholm, Sweden. i just love her attention to detail. takes a steady hand to pull something like this off.

my favorite customer from New Zealand asked me to make her and her friends some t-rex earrings based off of her drawing. this is what i created. 

she was kind enough to send a photo of the little guys safe and sound.

i was on etsy today and saw that Unicorn Crafts was included in a treasury curated by

eleventhmonkey!!!

it's a unicorn treasury! that's the best kind to be in if you ask me teehee.

frame transformation

with Unique LA about a month away, i have been busy making new work but also gathering items for Unicorn Crafts' table display.

i didn't want to break the bank on the decor alone, so i figured i'd try my luck at the Salvation Army and goodwill to maybe upcycle some items to my liking.

i found some oval frames at the Salvation Army for $3.75 for the pair and they were just what i was looking for (minus the needle point and frame color).  i thought it to be an easy enough make-over, so i purchased them. i stopped by the hardware store to get a sample jar of paint called "mermaid's song." since i love mermaids, i took that as a sign to use that shade of paint.

i knew that i would use these frames for an earring stand so i needed to get some fabric that would go with the theme and i sure found some swell stuff at joann on sale!

 

with all my supplies in hand i went to work priming and painting the frame and replacing the fabric. i am super happy with the color choice and the final product. super easy and it think it's going to look great on my table at Unique LA.

as you can tell i gave the blog a wee face-lift. i think i like this version a lot more.

unicorn crafts has some new items that were just added! it's a sneak peek into the items that you will see at unique la.

my vendors meeting for unique la is coming up and i am excited to see what they have in store for everyone. eek! only a month left to get everything together. let the countdown begin!

Here is a sneak peek at some of the things to look forward to at the Unique LA show in May!

Tickets for the show will be available in April and are only $10! There will be a ton of great artists selling everything from jewelry to paintings.
