Today I took myself on a date to the MOCA for the Transmission LA: AV Club show. It was filled with work inspired by music. My favorite piece was definitely Pinwheels - too cool for words really. The show was a good blend of audio and visual (hence the AV I suppose).
If you are in the area I would highly recommend seeing it before it closes.
After the museum I walked around Little Tokyo for a bit and headed to The Pie Hole for lunch. Mind you, I have never been to The Pie Hole and was reeeeeally looking forward to trying it. Alas, they were CLOSED! Boooooo. I guess I should have checked their hours of operations before heading there.
I did find food at the Novel Cafe just across the street and had a pulled bbq chicken sandwich. I am not a huge fan of bbq but I looooove pulled chicken, so I gave it a go and it was yummy in my tummy.
A lovely day to be inspired.

My Day at the Museum
I checked out the Tim Burton show today at LACMA before it closes tomorrow. I had gone a few weeks ago but forgot my sketchbook that time. So here I was, ready to see the show again, sketchbook in hand.
Holy moley, it was a mad house! I was lucky enough to see it the first time when there weren't that many people. But a on the good side, because it was so crowded, I was able to sneak a few photos, teehee. Shhh! Don't tell on me though.
I was able to do a few sketches and jot some idears down. As soon as I do my Burton-inspired piece, I shall post it up for you to see.
If you weren't able to make it to the show, take a looky...

Nail Art: Yikes, Stripes!

I went to Target with my sister yesterday and found some fun stuff.
The base color is by Sally Hansen called Commander in Chic. It's a complete salon manicure in a bottle.
The zebra stripes were added using an ultra thin brush made by Kiss. You can use the stencils that come with this three colored set or just free hand it like I did.
Any idears on what I should do next?
